McGrath & Co. Lawyers has provided reliable and professional service
to the North-West Coast of Tasmania for more that 60 years, since James F McGrath started his partnership in the firm Hudson, Waterworth & McGrath in 1944.

The firm became McGrath & McGrath in 1952 when Jim and Frank McGrath joined together as partners in the firm; they were later joined by F J Lillas in 1966 and the firm became McGrath, McGrath & Lillas.

Following Jim McGrath’s passing away in 1972, and Michael Lillas’ departure in 1980, Frank McGrath continued his practice with the firm.  In the early 1990s  his son Paul joined him as a partner in the firm, following Paul’s practice in commercial law in the city of Sydney, New South Wales.

Frank McGrath practiced for more than 50 years in the Burnie area and, after his passing in 2000, Paul McGrath continues as the principal of McGrath & Co., now joined by his wife Jo-anne McGrath, an associate with the firm.

Together with staff members who have been with the firm for more than 25 years, McGrath & Co. Lawyers continue to provide the same quality and assistance to Tasmanians as was started by Jim McGrath more than 60 years ago.
